King Nebuchadnezzar (605-562 ) stands in the area of his palace in Babylon that came to be known as the Hanging Gardens.


Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon 605-562 He determined to make his capital city of Babylon the finest in the world. In this 1915 illustration he is shown standing the area of his palace in Babylon that came to be known as the Hanging Gardens and was considered one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. Scholars differ on their size, but archaeological excavations do attest to some type of grandiose structure.
