Whitman's Hercules Baling Press. at World's Fair, Chicago, and in Every Other Contest. HAND POWER. For Hay, Straw, Wool, Broom Corn, Pea Vines, Cotton, Rags, Paper, Hair, Moss and all Materials Requiring Baling. We guarantee this Press to be more rapid and power- ful than any Hand Power Baler of same size in use. The Press embodies many new and novel features in its con- struction, the power being very simple and strong, having a fast and slow motion which can be instantly changed while operating. In beginning to press the bale, when little power is required, the long link (fast motion) isused; when the long link is connected the short link does not operate on wheel; when the bale becomes more solid the long link is thrown back on lever and the short link (slow speed), having many times more power than the other, connects itself with ratchet wheel to finish press- ing the bale. When the bale is pressed, the sides, with ends attached, can be instantly opened and the bale exposed for wiring or tying. After tying, the power is loosened, the top beam and follower removed, when the bale is rolled to one side. If the material requires sacking, it can be readily done and securely fastened without trouble. This Press can be all taken apart in two minutes, no bolts or screws requiring to be removed, enabling two men or boys to move any portion of it easily, and set up same for work. The sides are hinged at the bottom and held together b3' a patent connection, which is easily operated. This class of Press heretofore has been so heavy and cumbersome, that a large force has been required to operate and move them. This machine has be- come very popular wherever introduced, and never fails to give perfect satisfac- tion. The Wood I,ever can be instantly remove
