Staff Sgt. Joseph Scarmack, 757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, kneels on the wing of an F-15E Strike Eagle at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Sept. 19, 2022. Standing upwind of the flames, and being aided by three other Airmen, Scarmack played a pivotal role in evacuating personnel away from the fire in an F-15E, which resulted in an Air Combat Command safety award.
