PER POL. $ PER 100 HENRY A. DREER 714-716 Chestnut St., PHILADELPHIA, PA. FORT WAYNE, IND. The Market. Business during the first days of the new year has been decidedly active, al- though trade conditions are not entirely satisfactory, due to the continued short- age in cut flowers, although the supply is better than it had been for some weeks preceding the holidays. Prices have dropped but little from the holiday level. Flowers for social affairs have been in fine demand, especially for table dec- orations and corsages. Many of the hotels have opened their dancing halls and cabarets since the first of the year. Wedding decorations also have become more numerous and lavish. Carnations are more plentiful, al- though the price has dropped from $12 to $6 per hundred. Some exceptionally fine cattleyas are being offered. Various Notes. Miss C. B. Flick, of the Patten Flow- er Shop, Toledo, O., spent last week here visiting relatives, on her way to Los Angeles, Cal., where she will spend the remainder of the winter, returning to Toledo in time for Easter. The Frcese Floral Co. has been having a fine sale of blooming plants for the hospitals. Henry Freese is confined to his bed, suffering from a nervous break- down. Miss Catherine Vesey, who has been at Camp Taylor, Louisville, Ky., nursing soldiers suffering from influenza, has re- turned to her home. Miss Vesey also assisted her sister
