A well tilted Celtic cross marks a grave site at the overgrown church yard at the ruins of St. Mary's Church in Delvin, County Westmeath, Ireland. The Celtic cross headstorne dates from the old church sits on Main Street and has been an integral part of the local landscape since it was built in the 14th century. Some views suggest that the building was not originally used as a church, but rather as a defense post with the tower being used as a watch tower. The church remained in use until the 1970s.
