Oblong Fillet Flanked by Two Needle Cases (?),' Plate 5 from 'Goldsmith Ornament Designs', Heinrich Raab, German, active Nuremberg 1640 – 1650, Paul Furst, German, ca. 1605 – 1666, Engraving on off-white laid paper, Three separate white on black designs for an oval fillet or pendant flanked by what are believed to be needle cases. The pendant is ornamented with an asymmetrical spray of tulips and leaves supported by swaying stems. The needle case on the left is also ornamented with a curving stem ending in a large florette. A crown of flowers tops the case.
