The crypt walls on the inside are builtor faced with chalk and firestone, roughly coursed and THE CRYPT AND CHAPEL OF LAMBETH PALACE. 143 thinly plastered, but the plastering for the first 3 ft. or sohas disappeared.^ (See Plate I.)
