Minister van Angeren, 1940 - 1945 photograph Minister Johannes Regnerus Maria van Angeren (1894-1959) was Minister of Justice during the Second World War. In May 1940 he fled as Secretary General from the Ministry of Justice to England and later succeeded Gerbrandy in London as Minister of Justice. In 1944 he came into conflict with the queen about the post -war police organization. After his resignation as minister in 1944, he became Secretary General again.
