Medical consultation. 18th-century artwork showing an old man (right) examining the contents of a flask, while a young boy (left) holds a larger flask. In the background (far left) are two women, probably patients waiting for the results of the medical consultation. The flask being examined by the doctor or alchemist probably contains urine. This is an engraving by French artist Jean-Jacques Le Veau, after an earlier painting by French artist Marie-Marc Bilcoq. It was originally published in Paris, France, under the title: 'Consultation apprehendee'.
