After losing his right leg below the knee as the result of a boating accident, 1st Lt. Ryan McGuire set a goal to return to athletics. He vowed to be able to enter the same types of competitions he participated in before his accident. In 2010, 13 months after his accident, McGuire ran the Air Force Marathon in less than five hours. This year, he will compete in his second Warrior Games.
