'Camp of General Roberts at Thal on the Kuram River', (1901). Military camp of British soldier Sir Frederick, 1st Earl Roberts (1832-1914) on the Kurram River near the town of Thall, North-West Frontier Province, India, (now Pakistan). Roberts was given command of the Kurram field force in March 1878 and took part in the Second Anglo-Afghan War.
