TJriel and thin soimng.—The proper spacing of seed in the row isimportant in economy of seed and in the production, from the first, ofthe most \igorous plants. If seed of a high rate of germination iscarelessly and thickly sown, the result is a much too crowded stand ofseedlings, wliich must be thinned out at an early age to prevent aweakened growth.
