The trucks in use are the standard tenderpedestal type which give excellent service under the most exact-ing conditions. The general appearance of tliese locomotives is striking. Allpiping clamped below the running board is concealed by ascarfing that extends back under the cab and is broadened outto make a support for the cab steps. The motion work is com-pact and the most noticeable feature is the location of thecrosshead arm, union link and combination lever. These areall placed inside the guides. The appearance of these loco-motives is in direct keeping with their excellent main driving axle, main crank pin, piston rod and frontframe rails are of vanadium steel.
