The wise hunter will always follow up the trail on the chance that his shot may have been fatal. On another occasion this same hunter shot a wapiti, and whether it was confused by the sound of the rifie, not knowing exactly from what direction it came, he was not sure, but at any rate it charged straight at him as he lay concealed.
