This illustration dates to around 1846 and shows the flags of Isabella and ferdinand, who sponsored Christopher Columbus' voyage to the East. Columbus had presented his proposal to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella at Alcazar Castle in Cordoba in January 1492.
