Aerial view of Caños de Meca Cape Trafalgar lighthouse, Barbate, Cadiz province, Region of Andalusia, Spain, Europe. Located in Los Caños de Meca, in the very heart of the Costa de la Luz, in the town of Barbate, majestically stands Trafalgar Lighthouse, the hallmark of the area. At 34 meters high, since 1860 it has been protecting local sailors from the dangers of the sea. Trafalgar Lighthouse is located on a beautiful island and is connected to the mainland by a small isthmus of land. Around the lighthouse, there are remains of an ancient Phoenician settlement, an ancient Roman temple and a salted fish old factory, as well as a dismantled watchtower that reminds us of the Muslim past of this territory.
