Ten lamps are installed in the boiler shop, placed at regularintervals of 52 ft. down the middle of the building, each lamplighting an average of 3,062 sq. ft. In the erecting shop there aretwelve lamps regularly spaced down the middle of the buildingat intervals of 44 ft., giving an average floor area lighted byeach lamp of 2,552 sq. ft. All the lamps are hung at a height of 50 ft. above the floor. The lamps are rated at candlepower each with an energy consumption of 725 watts, or a totalfor the installation of approximately 16 kilowatts. The light afforded by these lamps is said to be sufficient forall pirposes, even the Incimotive pit being well illuminated. The.
