Paula Peters of DPAC speaks, pointing out how the housing crisis has disproportionately affected the disabled, already hard hit by benefit cuts and removal of support payments by discredited tests, at theprotest against the housing crisis outside Parliament as MPs return after the Christmas break. Working people as well as those on benefits are struggling to pay rents in a chaotic housing market with unfair caps on housing allowances, benefits and the bedroom tax. million adults are homeless, 73,000 household in temporary accommodation, evictions are rising dramatically and the housing needs of the disabled are often ignored.
