About three hundred grey hairedveterans of the Fremont Campaignentered the hall and passed down tothe front where seats had been re-served for them. Their entrance wasgreeted with cheers and tremendousenthusiasm, followed by the singingof America by the audience inchorus, led by the JOHN VIRDIX CHAIRMAN COMMITTEE ON MIS ICAL FUND HALL The President:—Exactly fifty years ago in this historicalhall, amid the scenes that were enacted at the birth of a greatNational Partv destined to have a tremendous influence uponthe happiness and the progress of the Nation, a young Baptistclergyman offered prayer.
