Among the demands were access to be better sexual education for young women, as well as calls to liberalize Poland's restricted abortion laws. Sunday's demonstration can be seen as an extension of the massive protest that took place on October 3 2016, in Poland and across many other countries across the globe as a response to Poland's right wing government considering a total ban on abortion. The protests in early October were in response to a legislative proposition by the pro-life group in Poland that sought to completely outlaw abortion, even in the case of rape or incest, and wanted to potentially jail women for carrying out abortions. Though the proposition was defeated, Poland's right-wing government has hinted that they are still considering furthering restricting abortions, especially when it comes to aborting terminally ill or severely deformed fetuses.
