Street scene in Hoi An Vietnam showing shop selling clothing made principally from silk. Pedestrian-friendly

Hoi An has been a centre for trading for centuries and many shop fronts and whole streets in the old town have been preserved in their original state. Since UNESCO gave it World Heritage Site status the old town has been closed to cars and trucks (lorries); motorbikes are banned every month on the full moon.
