Hake, chickpeas, red peppers & chorizo, Maeve's Kitchen restaurant inspired by Maeve Binchy offering diners homely stews, London
Newly opened East End restaurant Maeve's Kitchen restaurant inspired by Maeve Binchy offering diners homely stews. The little eatery has been opened by a London theatre director with an inheritance left by the much-loved writer who died last year at the age of 72. It serves the type of one-pot dishes your grandmother made, and everything about it has been designed to evoke memories of Binchy and her heartwarming yarns about rural Irish life. The decoration is homely rather than hip – farmhouse tables, mismatched chairs, gingham napkins and low lighting – and the brown-painted facade barely stands out amid the bookies and laundrettes of Lower Clapton Road.
