The history of Great Britain, from the first invasion by the Romans under Julius Caesar . ined in the reign and by the au-thority of Cunobeline, a prince who flourishedin this island between the first and second Ro-man invasion. The learned Mr Pegge hathpublished an engraving of a very complete col-lection of these coins of Cunobeline, to thenumber of thirty-nine, with an essay upon them;from which the following brief account of themis for the most part extracted. * These coinsare of different metals; some of them gold, others of silver, and others of brass; but all ofthem very much debased. They are all circular, though not perfectly flat, most of them being alittle disked, some more, some less, with one sideconcave, and the other convex. The taste inwhich they are executed is good, and the figuresupon them are much more elegant than those onthe Karn-bre coins above mentioned, or on the ancient Gallic coins in Mountfaucon. t h- • See an Essay on the Coins of Cunobeline.
