Copper—Of medium size, oval; dark copper; rather acid ; good for culinary purposes ; being nearly exempt from the attacks of the curculio, it is a very certain bearer. Considerably grown in some localities on the Hudson river, where it is esteemed for its productiveness, and found valuable as a market variety. Last of September. Damson—Fruit small, oval; skin purple, covered with blue bloom; flesh melting and juicy, rather tart ; separates partly from the stone. September.
