This sub-scale model is being operated by remote control as it lifts off from Rogers Dry Lake at Edwards Air Force Base, California, USA. This aircraft is being developed by the Phantom Works research and technology division of Boeing, and built by UK company Cranfield Aerospace. It is a low-noise version of a Hybrid Wing Body (HWB) aircraft design, part of studies of future aircraft by NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate's Environmentally Responsible Aviation Project.
