These are seedlings grown from seed gathered from grafted trees of \ Nanking, \ Meiling, Killing. and should normally produce large attract- ive fine flavored chestnuts. These trees are very thrifty. TYPE 2. These are seedlings pro- duced from seed grown on selected trees of the Tietsing and Fa HouTze selections of Chestnuts. They are not quite ;is large as above hut very Bne quality. TYPE 3. v J. A. K. A selection made many years ago by Dr. Van Fleet and presented to John A. Kemp, Little Sil- ver, N. J. The trees are bearing large annual crops of nuts. This strain re- sembles the American 'Sweet Chestnut to a greater degree than any other we have observed. It is a fertile type and a splendid pollinator. Seedlings. TYPE ABUNDANCE (Seedlings). Possibly one of the best selections. Comparable to J. A. K. which it strong- ly resembles in sine and quality of nut.
