Four miles away on Wood Creek at the westernend of the carrying-place between said creek and the MohawkRiver, was another fort named Fort Bull. March 27, 1756, thiswas attacked by a party of French and Indians under Monsieurde Lery, the defenders of the fort were massacred, and thefort was blown up and burned.
