The machine is furnished with a full equip-ment of tools and appliances for its operation and itis said of it that it can be handled and got ready foraction in less time than any other. Special atten-tion has been paid to the swinging power of themachine. This is gained by steel wire ropeswrapped around a- swinging circle of large diam-eter and carried to a drum. The power is suffi-cient to swing the load up hill if the machine shouldnot be on level track, and a brake is provided whichwill hold it in any position while being hoisted orlowered. Ample stability is obtained for all ordinary loadsby means of jack screws and rail clamps attachedto the body of car. It is only necessary to let downthe jack-arms when heavy loads are to be lifted andswung to the side. For lifting the maximum loadin extreme side position it is necessary to still fur-ther anchor
