In Plate XXI. is shown a small patch of ulcerating lupusof the nose cured after twelve exposures, without adjuvantmeasures. While the ray itself will often prove sufficient withoutother measures, when ulceration is caused by the ray, or origi-nally exists, it may be necessary to use salves, pastes, etc.,as the conditions indicate. Curetting and cauterization mayhave to be resorted to in many cases, but in the main theamount of supplemental treatment is considerably less thanin the Finsen method.
