Cradle with the HRMT45 module undergoing final checks during its installation at the HiRadMat (High Irradiation to Materials) TNC (Tunnel Neutrino Chamber) facility. Power supplies, instrumentation, communications, cooling water supplies, and vacuum pump connections were all tested, along with the graphite target designed to be impacted by the particle accelerator beam. HRMT45 was installed in the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory, Switzerland. The SPS particle accelerator is an underground ring with a 7-kilometre circumference that extends across the border into France. Photographed on 20 August 2018.
