An armed Kuki volunteer helps children from Mualngat village repair their tricycle in Mualngat village in Churachandpur. Several people in Manipur from the Meitei and the Kuki communities are now living in bunkers, armed with rifles, intercoms and binoculars to protect their villages. These men had regular jobs and some among them went to schools and colleges before ethnic violence gripped the state in May.
