The pips or crowns are received from Germany dur- ing November, and should be planted soon after their receipt. The simplest method for indoor culture is to place a bundle of 25 pips in a 7 or 8-inch pot, filling it up with sand, moss, light soil or bulb fibre, allowing the points of the pips to be about an inch above the surface. They should then be placed out of doors and brought indoors as wanted, and put in a shaded place in a temperature of about 70 degrees, and when the spikes are 3 to 4 inches high they may be brought to where they are to perfect their flowers. We recommend clumps as most suitable for outdoor planting. Dreer's Peerless Pips. The highest grade of imported forcing pips. Bundle of 25 pips, $; $ per 100; $ per 1000. Strong Clumps.
