Welcome swallow with an insect on a dry branch at Bushy beach in New Zealand. Bushy Beach Scenic Reserve is the last remaining in the area, dominated by hebe, ngaio, mahoe and broaddleaf which shelters penguins and other seabirds. The welcome swallow (Hirundo neoxena) is a small passerine bird in the swallow family. It is a species native to Australia and nearby islands, and self-introduced into New Zealand in the middle of the twentieth century.
