The Courtwithheld the sentence of imprisonment atthe request of the Election League,inasmuchas it was proven at the trial that bothpolitical parties had been guilty of similarcrimes, at one time or another. The finesand costs, however, amounting to over$50,000, were paid by the State CentralCommittee of the party to which the menbelonged.
