A B-29 Superfortress awaits visitors outside the Heritage Center at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., May 17, 2018. The aircraft, which was affixed with 12 .50 caliber machine guns, could carry 20,000 pounds of bombs. It flew with the 301st Bomb Group of Strategic Air Command and was assigned to Travis from 1943 – 1945.
