April 4th, 2023. Flowerbeds on roundabouts in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, have been planted with bulbs and perennials this year by Rushmoor Borough Council instead of the usual annuals. In previous years, the flowers required a lot of watering. The new plants should be more cost-effective, and more sustainable since they require less water and will be better suited to the summer heatwaves and droughts that have become more frequent due to climate change.
