September 1944. RAF pilot-officers standing in front of the barracks at RAF Bishops Court, County Down, Northern Ireland. (Observer) Advanced Flying Unit. The course ran from 27th May 1944 to 5th September 1944. The airmen carried out navigation and practise bombing exercises (day and night) over Northern Ireland, Wales, Scottish islands, and The Isle of Man, flying in Avro Anson training aircraft. Many of the men signed the back of the photo (also included).
