Andre Chenier, French poet, 18th century (1882-1884). Chenier (1762-1794) was a victim of the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. He was executed by guillotine on 8th July 1794. He was one of the last people to be executed by the Terror's architect, Maximilien Robespierre, who was himself arrested, tried and out to death three days later.
