The Church of the Flagellation built in 1929 by Franciscan architect Antonio Barluzzi in the area where King Herod the Great built the Antonia Fortress by the Temple Mount and where according to tradition the trial of Christ took place, it is a Franciscan Roman Catholic church and Christian pilgrimage site, it is the Second Station on the Via Dolorosa located in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel.
