Saint Alichaa Monastery 1315AD In Wadi Kannoubine Valley or Valley of the Saints Looking Out Onto The Valley, Northern Lebanon


Saint Alichaa Monastery. The Monastery seems carved out of the living rock itself, and with all its material taken from the work site itself. It's origins dates back to well before 1315 and found at an Altitude of 1,258m This is one of the oldest Monasteries in Lebanon. The monastery was built around a large rocky pit, and most probably by Byzantine emperor Theodos the Great in 379 - 395AD
