Our host gave us a cordial welcome, and did all in hispower to make our stay pleasant, giving us with open-heartedhospitality the best the house afforded. On the farm was alarge number of horses, kept for the celebrated kumisstreatment. Kumiss is a special preparation of maresmilk, considered good for certain classes of invalids; oftenin summer-time there would be fifty patieats under treatmentat the farm.
