BRAIN, DRAWING

The brain is constituted of 2 hemispheres linked by nerve fibers (corpus callosum). With the brain stem and the cerebellum joined in back-derivation they form the encephalon. The surface of each hemisphere is folded in circonvolutions, separated by nicks or furrows that determine the lobes. They bear the names of the bones that cover them (frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital). Here it is an ancient colorized engraving.
