A pair of German cuisses for a three-quarter armour, circa 1580. Cuisses sliding on ten lames with poleyns of two lames. Turned and roped edges, chased decorative strips in the centre. The poleyns with holes to attach reinforcement plates(?) in the middle. The cuisses can be shortened to five lames, the poleyns are detachable. Attached to them the original buckles, the old leather covering defective in some parts. Length 49 cm each. Beautiful, untouched condition.
