09/03/14 SUNDAY . MANCHESTER , England. Anti-fracking demonstration in Manchester. Protestors marching through Manchester today (SUNDAY 9/3/14) in what organisers say is the biggest anti-fracking rally yet in the UK. Demonstrators opposed to the controversial gas extraction method gathered in Piccadilly Gardens from 12pm before marching to Cathedral Gardens at 2pm. There is a protest camp at nearby Barton Moss, where energy firm IGas is carrying out test drilling to explore potential shale gas reserves beneath the green belt site in Irlam, Salford.
