ATLEE BURPEE & CO., PHILADELPHIA. 0> ;G. NEW SWEET CORN, COUNTRY GENTLEMAN. For many years we have called prom- inent attention to the very distinct AV Plus I Itra Sweet Corn (described on page fy| , 58), which for private family use is per- •' feet in every way. but rather small in size. After years of careful selection and growing this weak point has been made strong by a grower in the Con- necticut Valley, until in the NEW Country Gentleman Sweet Cobs we have a variety which produces ears of full size, retaining all the delicious sweetness and high quality of the original Ne Plus Ultra. Our illustration of a single stalk shows its great productive- ness ; the crop can be counted on to give three to five ears to a stalk. When this unusual abundance is coupled with the luscious quality, the geueral superiority of this new Sweet Corn will be quickly seen. The cob is very small, thereby giving great depth to the kernels, which are of pearly white- ness, and, we cannot say too often, surprisingly sweet and tender. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 30 cts.; per quart 50 cts., postpaid. AMBER RICE POP CORN. This beautiful and distinct Pop Corn will give great satisfaction. The stalks grow five feet high, each bearing two or three perfect ears eight to ten inches long, well filled with handsome, rich, amber-colored kernels. A most attractive variety ; pops pure white, expanding to a large size, and is very tender when popped. Undoubtedly one of the very best for popping, either for home use or for commercial purposes. Per pkt. 10 cts.; 3 pkts. for 25 cts. —IMPROVED— RUBY SWEET CORN. In 1888 an Eastern Seed House introduced the Ruby Sweet Corn, which, upon trial, proved to be a most excellent variety, but, unfortunately, less than half came true from seed. Afterward, Mr. C. »N.
