Lithium batteries. Batteries are used as a source of electrical power, converting chemical energy into electrical energy via a reaction. For lithium batteries, the reaction is between lithium metal (Li) or lithium-based compounds and another chemical. For these batteries, branded 'Ultimate Lithium' from the Energizer company, the chemical reacting with the lithium is iron disulphide (FeS2). These are AA batteries, producing a voltage of volts. The positive terminal of the batteries is marked with a plus sign.
