Whingate Primary School, Whingate Road, Leeds, 09/03/1989. Children drawing and building with Lego in a classroom at Whingate Primary School, Leeds. Laing's Yorkshire Region division built three schools as a combined £4m contract for Leeds City Council. Whitecote, Harehills and Whingate primary schools were all built between September 1987 and September 1988. All three were of traditional brick and block construction with hipped tiled roofs. The design followed the same template but Whingate was a mirror image of the other two.
