Troops from overseas, including the 2nd Field Artillery mostly comprising regular army men, arrived at Hoboken, NJ, on Jan 18, 1919, on the Sloven transport General Grant and battleships Montana and South Dakota. They debarked at Hoboken and boarded the ferryboat Scranton enroute to Camp Merritt, NJ. This photograph was taken by Lt. Geo. H. Iyon on Jan. 29, 1919, and was cleared by the censor on Jan. 30, 1919.
