Above mouse-brown; wings and tail rather darker; tips of coverts and outer margins of outer secondaries pale brown ; sides of bead and bases of feathers of subcrested crowii fulvous-brown : beneath dirty white; flanks and under wing-coverts with a slight yellowish tinge ; beak and feet brown: whole length 3-7 inches, wing 1*7, tail 1*5.
