210625-N-WG584-1010 SANTA RITA, Guam (Jun. 25, 2021) During a ceremony to honor the life of Vicenta Chargualaf Peredo at Asan Beach, members of the Navy community present flowers to her daughter. Peredo, better known as “Seabee Betty”, is remembered for acting as the surrogate mother for more than 50 years to the thousands of Seabees who deployed to Guam. NMCB 11 Det. Guam is forward-deployed to execute construction, humanitarian assistance, theater security cooperation, and support Major Combat Operations in the 7th Fleet areas of operation.
